An interior wall is a wall located within the interior of a building that serves to divide spaces or rooms. Unlike exterior walls, which form the outer shell of a structure and provide protection from the elements, interior walls are primarily used for spatial organization, privacy, and sometimes structural support. They can be either load-bearing (supporting the weight of the structure above) or non-load-bearing (purely partitioning spaces). Interior walls are typically constructed from materials such as timber framing with plasterboard (gyprock), masonry, or lightweight steel framing, depending on the design and functional requirements of the building.
