Lakeframe: A Luxury Lakeside Home in Lake Conjola

Francis Design, a dedicated luxury home designer, created Lakeframe, a thoughtfully crafted lakeside home on the peaceful shores of Lake Conjola. This single-storey residence blends seamlessly with the Shoalhaven region’s natural surroundings near Ulladulla, offering a serene retreat through careful design and coastal charm.

The client requested skillions—sloping roofs or lean-to structures—integrated into the architecture. This vision evolved into an arrangement of skillion pavilions, shaping the home’s layout while fulfilling the client’s desires with innovative design.

The main bedroom, entry, and living areas feature raked ceilings extending to double-height spaces. These soaring ceilings create a sense of hierarchy, emphasising spaciousness and distinction, enhancing both the aesthetic and functional qualities of this luxury home design.

A skilfully crafted stone wall encloses the entry courtyard, offering privacy and intrigue. A meandering pathway guides visitors to the entrance, gradually revealing the space. The hallway skillion roof frames trees and sky, drawing the eye upward. The central hallway leads through courtyards, opening to a panoramic lake view. The dark-hued palette of charred timber and free-form stone reflects the environment, showcasing luxury home design.

Lakeframe’s design uses multiple skillion pavilions orientated to capture natural light. High windows and Heka Hoods shield interiors from summer sun while inviting light in cooler months. Double-height raked ceilings at the entry highlight surrounding trees, setting the tone for a modern retreat connected to nature.

Designed as a single-level luxury home, Lakeframe ensures seamless movement and accessibility. Courtyards create distinct yet interconnected spaces, balancing privacy and openness—a hallmark of luxury home design. The master bedroom’s courtyard frames serene lake views, while the kitchen and living areas offer fluid vistas. A combustion fireplace and window seat framing the lake add warmth and charm, perfect for cosy moments.

This luxury home designer project respects Lake Conjola’s landscape. Every choice enhances the area’s character, making Lakeframe a sanctuary blending functionality with nature. The bay window with corner butt glazing extends lake views with sophistication. Minimal topography changes during construction preserved the land’s natural contours. The level was positioned for minimal cut and fill, ensuring seamless integration with the rolling landscape and stunning lake views.
