A modern Blakehurst family home designed around Kogarah Bay views, natural light, privacy and relaxed indoor-outdoor living.
Stunning views of Kogarah Bay and Carrs Park make Beach Street an ideal location for a modern home designed around temperate living. The brief called for an affordable family home that could support two growing children while maintaining a contemporary architectural aesthetic.
The design response not only met the brief — it exceeded expectations. A north-facing courtyard was incorporated to maximise natural light and ventilation, creating a bright and airy atmosphere throughout the home. The living areas were carefully planned around the courtyard, including a dedicated play area for the children, allowing indoor and outdoor spaces to connect naturally.
A square void was introduced in the roof above the courtyard to improve openness and connection to the sky. This feature allows natural light to flood the interior and gives the home a refined contemporary edge.
Privacy and security were also important to the design. A white fence defines the property boundaries, while carefully selected planting provides visual appeal and shields the family from the nearby park, creating a calm and private environment.
The rear yard has been transformed into a private oasis with a swimming pool and tranquil water feature, enhancing the beauty of the home and providing a relaxing outdoor space for family living and entertaining.
Beach Street brings together stunning views, contemporary design, natural light and carefully considered family spaces. The result is an affordable and stylish modern home designed around the needs of its occupants and the natural qualities of the site.
