Francis Design created Lakeframe as a thoughtfully crafted single-storey lakeside home on the peaceful shores of Lake Conjola.
The design blends coastal charm, natural materials, framed views, and refined luxury home design into a calm Shoalhaven retreat.
Lakeframe was designed for a client who wanted skillions — sloping roof forms — integrated into the architecture. This evolved into a series of skillion pavilions that shaped the home's layout, created visual rhythm, and allowed the residence to respond carefully to light, views, privacy, and the natural surroundings.

Raked ceilings, double-height volumes, and a stone entry courtyard.
The main bedroom, entry, and living areas feature raked ceilings that extend into double-height spaces. These soaring volumes create hierarchy, openness, and a clear sense of arrival. A carefully crafted stone wall encloses the entry courtyard, adding privacy and intrigue before a meandering pathway gradually reveals the entrance.

The central hallway leads through courtyards before opening to a panoramic lake view. Dark charred timber and free-form stone reflect the surrounding environment, while high windows draw in natural light and frame trees, sky, and water. The bay window with corner butt glazing extends the lake views and turns everyday moments into carefully framed experiences.
Minimal cut and fill, passive shading, and single-level living.
Lakeframe was positioned to minimise cut and fill, preserving the rolling topography of the site. The single-level plan supports easy movement through the home, while courtyards and passive shading help balance privacy, openness, sunlight, and comfort across the seasons.
